Good to know

  • Learn division facts as the reverse of multiplication: if 6 × 7 = 42, then 42 ÷ 7 = 6.
  • For long division, set quotients to 10–99 and divisors to 2–9.

Questions

When do kids learn division?

Division facts come in 3rd grade (within 100). Long division with up to four-digit dividends comes in 4th grade, and two-digit divisors in 5th.
