How to use it
- Type the words or sentences you want to practice, one per line.
- Choose the letter size and how many tracing copies of each line you want.
- Download the PDF or print it. Kids trace the gray letters, then copy the line in the blank row.

- Start with short words that use letters your child already knows, then move to sentences.
- The font is a traditional US cursive, close to what most schools teach.
- For a full alphabet sheet, use the cursive alphabet worksheets; each letter also has its own page.
- Use spelling or vocabulary words so cursive practice doubles as spelling practice.
Questions
What age should kids learn cursive?
Most US schools that teach cursive start in 2nd or 3rd grade, around ages 7 to 9. Over 20 states now require cursive instruction, including California (since 2023) and Texas.
Can I use my own words?
Yes. Type anything, such as names, spelling words or quotes, and the worksheet updates as you type.
Which cursive style is this?
A traditional American cursive with connected lowercase letters and looped capitals. Letter shapes vary a little between programs such as Zaner-Bloser and D'Nealian.
